The Munay-Ki are the nine great rites of initiation from the medicine way of the Andes. These are not just "lessons" — they are energetic seeds, or transmissions, planted in your luminous field.
Munay means love in the Quechua language, and Ki means energy. The Munay-Ki are traditional rites of empowerment based on the initiation practices of the Q’ero shamans of the Andes.
Alberto Villoldo, a medical anthropologist, travelled to South America to study the energy medicine and healing ways of the indigenous people, living and learning with them over a period of several decades.
The rites are now shared with the rest of the world, faithfully bringing the Andean teachings in a way that is easily adopted by Westerners to assist in the transformation of humanity.

The Foundation Rites

This rite connects you to a lineage of luminous healers from the past, who come to assist in your personal transformation. It awakens the healing power in your hands, so that everyone you touch is blessed. These luminous ones work in our sleep to heal the wounds of the past.

Five luminous belts are woven into your luminous energy field (LEF) for protection. They act as filters, breaking down any negative energy that comes toward you into one of the five elements. These energies then feed your LEF instead of making you ill.

With this rite, you receive a transmission of 7 different archetypes in your chakras. Animal archetypes go into your first 4 chakras, while guardians of the 3 different realms of existtence go into your upper chakras.

Extra-cerebral pathways of light are installed to connect the visual cortex with your third eye and heart chakra. This awakens the “inner seer” and expand your ability to perceive the invisible world, as well as your intuition.
The Lineage Rites

With this rite, you connect to a lineage of masters from the past, the Daykeepers, who are able to call on the ancient altars to heal and bring balance to the Earth, honor the sunrise each day, and bring humans into harmony with nature. They are the midwives, herbalists, and curanderas. This rite helps you heal your inner feminine.

This rite is associated with the snow-capped mountains, perhaps a distant memory of our ancestors from the Himalayas. You connect to a lineage of luminous teachers from the past and the future. This rite helps you heal your inner masculine, step outside of time, and taste infinity.

This rite connects you to archangels that are stewards of all life on Earth. It helps you learn the ways of dreaming the world into being. You begin to realize that serving the Earth is at the core of Ayni (reciprocity). Mother nature gives without asking anything in return, and by giving back from the heart, you create a new Earth paradigm.

This rite anchors you safely to the time after the great change, that we are now experiencing on Earth. You begins to evolve into Homo Luminous. The aging process is slowed down, your DNA is re-informed, and you become more resistant to disease. This rite also connects you to the Star nations.
The Creation Rites

The last rite of the Munay-Kiawakens the Creator within, and brings forth a sense of stewardship for all creation, from the smallest grain of sand to the largest cluster of galaxies. Once attained only through direct transmission from Spirit, it is now possible to transmit from one person to another.

This rite was brought forth by Marcela Lobos, as she explored the feminine traditions of the Amazon jungle. She calls it the 13th Rite (however, there are no 10th, 11th or 12th Rite of the Munay-Ki). This rite comes from a lineage of women who freed themselves from suffering. It helps you remember that the womb is a place to create, and give birth to life, whether physically, or spiritually, through creative projects.

Receive a Sacred Andean coca leaf reading by Don Victor Chura Quispe. Victor is a wisdom keeper and divination Paqo from the Q’ero community, in the Andean Mountains near Cuzco. Coca leaves are used as an oracle to communicate with the spirit world, in connection with the moon goddess Mama Killa, and Mother Earth, Pachamama.

Alku Mateus, Shamanic Teacher & Co-Founder of Aynua
Diana & Alku
Diana Deer Hawk, a Canadian-born medicine woman of Scottish and Bosnian descent, mother and cacao guardian, received the Munay-Ki rites in 2014. With presence and compassion, she helps people reclaim their voice, power, and capacity to reinvent themselves through transformative rituals.
Alku Mateus, a French Canadian shamanic teacher and father, received the rites in 2019. Through a deep understanding of the human healing journey, he guides grounded spiritual transformation, helping people release blocked energy, heal emotional core wounds, and embrace a healthy life of service.
With their daughter, dog, and 4 cats, they live in Northern Peru, stewarding sacred land, and working with cacao artisans to produce the finest ceremonial cacao. With heart-centered presence, they teach rites that balance masculine and feminine wisdom, guiding energy upgrades through deeper nature connection.

Don Victor Chura Quispe comes from the Q’ero community in the high Andes of Cusco, Peru. Struck by lightning as a child, he trained as a Paqo in ceremonial teachings, and coca leaf divination. His grandmother, a respected healer and midwife, taught him women’s health. Known for his joy and humility, he inspires students to follow the sacred path of Munay.
Celia Samata Apaza, Q’ero lineage holder, is a weaver, healer, grandmother and Pampamesayoq. Granddaughter of Maria Apaza, a respected Altamesayoq, she received Karpays and Hampi Illa Khipu from that lineage, and devotes herself to sharing them. Deeply connected to Pachamama, her teachings embody the sacred gentleness of the divine feminine.
